HOW
THE ACCENT MANURE SEPARATOR WORKS
The Accent
Manure Separator is designed to split the nutrient loads into two
streams by separating the manure slurry into its two basic components
solids and liquid. Designed for pumped flow, the separator is
installed between the barn and the lagoon or in the designated location
of a new treatment system. The separator may be installed using
standard construction materials and practices.
Various installation
configurations provide the flexibility to fit the Accent Manure
Separator into any existing and or future sites.
Density, particle
size and specific gravity characteristics of the manure are reflected
in the design considerations of the Accent Manure Separator. Perforation
size and screen configuration have been selected to accommodate
automated operation achieving maximum efficiencies, durability,
reliability and simplicity.

Manure
Separator Construction
The Accent Manure Separator may be installed in
new or existing facilities using standard construction practices.
The separator is available on a stainless steel frame for turn-key
installation. Cold weather operations will require a cover structure
for winter (below freezing) operation.
Electrical requirements for the Accent Manure Separator
is 3.75 HP total, single or three phase An optional electrical
control panel can be provided for automatic or manual operation.
Accent IFRS 36 Separator
The Accent IFRS 36 is an internally fed contra
shear separator developed specifically for separating slurry mixtures
into solids and liquids. The Accent Manure Separator is very effective
at solids separation and can achieve relatively low moisture levels
when used with the Accent RP 36 Roller Press.
The Accent Manure Separator consists of a horizontal
revolving perforated drum screen. The slurry to be separated is
pumped onto the screen sidewall. Contra shear forces generated by
rotating the screen in the opposite direction of the input flow
shearing the solid out of the slurry mixture. The liquids flow through
the screen and are discharged for storage or further treatment.
The solids are conveyed out of the drum screen by means continuous
flighting. The solids are stockpiled or fed into the RP 36 Roller
Press for further dehydration.
The IFRS separator may be used as a stand-alone
enhancement for existing manure systems or may be incorporated into
any new treatment systems where solid liquid separation is an integral
part of the process. The Accent Manure Separator can be used for
a variety of applications and will operate in flush barns with sand
bedding as well as many other demanding systems.
